Life is good in the Shenandoah Valley. Especially when you’re on a scenic drive, stopping by vineyard after vineyard and soaking in the peace and quiet of idyllic locations, friendly vineyard owners, and glasses full of the fruit of the land. We’re pleased to be located right in the middle of it all and the following are all located within a two hours’ radius of the Inn.

NORTH MOUNTAIN VINEYARD

The winery building was modeled after a European-style farmhouse – established in 1982, it’s one of the older vineyards in Virginia. About 3,000 cases of premium wine come out of their below-ground cellar each year. Enjoy fireplaces and relaxing views, and if you’re visiting on a weekend, check their schedule for free live music performances. Owners are Krista and Brad – their son and daughter (John and Kelly) also help run the place. Expect Southern hospitality when you visit!

50-acre estate, with good wines, great views, and an unassuming atmosphere (not to mention two dogs!). Lovely tasting deck. Owned by Willard (Willy) and Diane Elledge.

Located on a high ridge of the Valley, these beautiful vineyards are anything but barren! Special events and weddings happen at their facilities which are built out of a renovated and expanded old apple barn – in fact, the entire vineyard is part of a transformed apple orchard. Located in the middle of the Shenandoah Valley, this vineyard can process about 5,000 cases of wine each year. They won the Governor’s Cup for their Cabernet Franc, and the Cabernet Sauvignon is a Vineyard favorite. Recently selected as one of the top wedding venues in Virginia for 2013 by Virginia Living. Owned by Curt and Jackie Hartman.

With panoramic mountain views and a strong agricultural heritage that extends through their vineyards to their wines, you are sure to be stunned by this gem. All of their vines have been planted in the past two years! Owned by Steve and Stephanie Pence.

Location

Easy to find, just minutes off I-81, on the edge of Harrisonburg’s lively downtown historic district. Harrisonburg is in the heart of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley within the Blue Ridge and Allegheny Mountain ranges.

 

We’re centrally located amid the Skyline Drive, Civil War Battlefields, and both James Madison and Eastern Mennonite Universities. Massanutten and Bryce Ski Resorts are an easy, scenic drive from the inn.
